This summer I'm taking part in 'Give Hope Wings' an epic flying adventure with an important purpose.

I joined Hope Air in the fall of 2021 to make a difference for Canadians who must travel for medical care. If you're from an urban centre, you probably don't think about what it's like to get a diagnosis of a rare form of cancer or other illness in a small community. Universal Healthcare ensures that you'll receive the treatment that you need - but what if that treatment is 16 hours away by car? What if you have to pay for multiple flights a month for recurring doctor's visits? What do you do if you can't afford it?

We answer those questions for Canadians.

The service is incredibly important, and incredibly personal. My mother was diagnosed with cancer just months after we lost my dad. We lived in a small town in Nova Scotia and her treatments were in Halifax. A cancer society service made sure that she got there, and the doctors made sure she is here today.

I have the pleasure of supporting work that makes sure other Canadian families have the same opportunity - to focus on their health, and to get well.

This year's Give Hope Wings Expedition is a multi-aircraft series of flights consisting of two segments from Victoria, BC to Toronto, ON to St. John's, NL and ending at the COPA Convention in Montreal in June 2022.
