I’m taking part in Give Hope Wings – a cross country flying adventure with an important purpose. This summer, pilots are flying across the country to raise funds and awareness for Hope Air a national charity that helps people who must travel for medical care.

This year, XXXXX PEI residents will need airfare, accommodations, meals and rides to reach specialized medical care in cities like Halifax and Toronto. Hope Air makes sure they can access that care without barriers of cost and distance. At an average cost of $425 per travel arrangement, they'll provide more than ____ in support to our community in 2023 and I'm doing my part to make sure that no one living in Terrace and beyond will have to ask how, or if, they can travel for vital medical care.

Charlottetown is just one stop on the route. As part of the expedition, pilots stop in communities like ours to show that they're standing by to help Canadians who must travel for care. Their flight path takes us through some of the most interesting aviation sites the region has to offer but most importantly it takes them on a journey to connect with Hope Air communities.

Many of us take travel for granted. Give Hope Wings is about supporting those who don’t have that luxury. It will raise $1,000,000 to provide 2,850 flights for patients in financial need who must travel far from home for the medical care they need - and as part of my journey I get the opportunity to connect with the people Hope Air helps firsthand.
